Contrasts in Scriptures
- Not Contradictions -

3.

Circumcision of the Flesh
Genesis 17:1-14
Circumcision from the Flesh
Colossians 2:11-17
Circumcision of the flesh was a vital part of identification as an Israelite.

Romans 3:1,2 - What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

Circumcision FROM the flesh is a vital part of 'existence' today in order to have Christ IN us and us be IN HIM.

We are cut away from our body of the sins of the flesh.  Colossians 2:11

The sword is the word of God.  Hebrews 4:12

The flesh still exists and causes us problems daily - but now we are not under the dominion of sin.  It is not our 'choice' as to whether or not we choose to do right.

This is how we are now 'dead to sin.'  WE are no longer 'dead in our sins.'  Ephesians 2:1,5

This is how we are now capable of walking in the newness of life.  We are not only dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:3-14
Romans 6:15-23

Therein lies our personal battles today, as was Paul's.  Romans 7:25

Note:
In the Tribulation, the Spirit of God will be UPON them in order for them to 'DO' what they will have to do.
Acts 2:14-18
Revelation 14:6-7; 12

We have the Spirit of God in us today.
Romans 8:8,9

Further note:
Romans 3:30 - Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

Galatians 6:15 - For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Ephesians 2:11-13 - Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; (see Colossians 2:11 - "...made without hands") That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
