During the earthly ministry of Jesus
Christ before He was crucified, Gentiles were specifically excluded.
Not to the Gentiles... yet
-
Matthew 10:5,6
- These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded
them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of
the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house
of Israel.
-
Matthew 6:31,32
-Therefore
take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or,
Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles
seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these
things.
He had come particularly to 'His
own - Israel'
-
John 1:11,12),
and He ministered exclusively to them.
-
John 1:11 -
He
came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Christ was
Israel's Messiah whose coming was prophesied.
-
His mission was "...to confirm the
promises made unto the fathers of Israel - Abraham, Isaac and Jacob."
-
Romans 15:8
- Now I say that Jesus Christ was
a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises
made unto the fathers:
All things
were accomplished - fulfilled!
-
John 19:28
- After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that
the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
-
John 14:22-31
- Fulfilled to the Jew in the Great
Commission.
The Apostle Paul reminded his
Gentile people: Ephesians 2:11,12
-
Wherefore
remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called
Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made
by hands;
-
That at
that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of
Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and
without God in the world:
Judgment onto the Gentiles
-
As Romans 2:14,15
states,
their conscience is involved.
-
For when
the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained
in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience
also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else
excusing one another;)
Paul also reminds all that their consciences
are seared.
-
I Timothy 4:2
-
... having their conscience seared with a hot
iron;...
Christ was WITH the Jews during the
Gospel days! |
After Christ had finished the work
that He had come to do, Paul was then able to assure the Gentile Christians
from the Risen Christ!
But now:
-
Ephesians 2:13-16
- But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes
were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
-
For he is
our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall
of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even
the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself
of twain one new man, so making peace;
-
And that
he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain
the enmity thereby:
Expounding
the Way of God More Perfectly
-
Acts 18:26
- ...expounded unto him the way of God
more perfectly.
A More Excellent
Way
-
I Corinthians
12:31 - ...shew
I unto you a more excellent way.
Forbad to speak
to the Gentiles
-
I Thessalonians
2:16 - Forbidding
us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their
sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
Paul Hindered
by Satan
-
I Thessalonians
2:18 - Wherefore we would have come unto
you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.
All into One
-
I Corinthians
12:13 - For by one Spirit are we
all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we
be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Jews Concerning
the Gospel
-
Romans 11:28
- 28 - As concerning the gospel, they are
enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved
for the fathers' sakes.
All are One
-
Galatians 3:28
- There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is
neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all
one in Christ Jesus.
Both Builded
Together for Habitation of God
-
Ephesians 2:19-22
- Now therefore ye are no more strangers
and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household
of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building
fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom
ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Christ
dwells in us by faith:
-
Romans 8:9
- But ye are not in the flesh, but in the
Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have
not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
-
Romans 8:11
- But if the Spirit of him that raised
up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the
dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth
in you.
-
Ephesians 3:17
- That Christ may dwell in your hearts
by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love ...
-
Galatians 2:20
- I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless
I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live
in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave
himself for me.
During
the Tribulation
-
Revelation
14:6-13
-
II Thessalonians
2:9-12
Saved Jews/Gentiles
Gone!
-
Romans 11:25
- For I would not, brethren, that ye should
be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits;
that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the
Gentiles be come in.
-
I Thessalonians
5:9 - For God hath not appointed us to
wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
