Christ, King of Israel
Matthew 2:1,2
Christ, Head of the Body
Ephesians 1:18-23
The promise of a king and a kingdom was made to God's chosen people, not to us 'Gentiles.'

They were the ones promised a King.

  • Luke 1:31-33 - And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
God delivered, but they killed him!
  • Acts 2:22-38
  • Acts 3:12-26
Peter does mention that the King they killed was going to have been sent to 'them that were afar off,' the Gentiles.
Acts 2:39

And yes, He still was sent to them that were afar off, but not through anyone except Paul!

  • Galatians 2:7,8 - But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)
  • Acts 13:46-48
  • Acts 17:32-34; 18:1
  • Acts 19:24-27
  • Acts 26:16-23
  • Acts 28:24-31
  • Galatians 1:11-12
  • Ephesians 3:1-7
Is Christ our King today?
No!

The god of this world reigns at this time.

  • II Corinthians 4:4 - In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
  • I Corinthians 5:5 - To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
  • II Corinthians 2:11 - Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
  • I Thessalonians 2:18 - Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.
  • II Thessalonians 2:9 - Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
  • I Timothy 1:20 - Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
  • I Timothy 5:15 - For some are already turned aside after Satan.
He is King today only because He is King of kings over all creation.
  • I Timothy 1:17 - Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
  • I Timothy 6:15 - Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
The King of kings then made himself available to those that were afar off through Paul.
  • Ephesians 2:13-22
He will be the King of kings on this earth - some day - king over everyone..
  • Revelation 19:11-16
