Outline of audio sermon:
(as always, there is preaching within the audio that
you won't find in the notes/outline)
Blessed is the people
that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy
countenance.
Psalm 89:15
The sound of late Baroque and early Classical
is so clean, most folks are bored with it and can't even listen to it,
let alone appreciate it and be edified by it. That is how corrupted
we have become over the 'beat' and 'design' of modern music today.
The
"Sound" of Absolute Music
-
Good Communication - is good for us, not evil.
It edifies, not corrupts!
I Corinthians 15:33
Ephesians 4:29
-
Distinctly Clean Sound - helps you know the
counterfeit and corrupted music of today - 'especially' this 'Christian"
junk in the BB churches today!
I Corinthians 14:7
-
Balanced - no false balance in this music!
Proverbs 11:1
Proverbs 20:23
-
Fitly joined together - from the melodies
to the harmonies to the rhythm and instrumentation and sound, it is all
tight and together.
Ephesians 4:16
-
Acceptable unto the Lord! It is about
God but we receive a blessing from His music - peace and quiet - rejoicing
- etc.
Psalm 68:4
I Timothy 2:23
I Timothy 6:17
Philippians 4:8
-
A Healthy Sound
Proverbs 15:3
Proverbs 17:22
-
"Modern Christian Music"
junk in our churches and homes
destructive and deceiving
fake orchestras and accompaniments
all about money
they say it is all about ministry, but that is
not Biblical!
shallow music
shallow doctrine
false doctrine interspersed - even in BB groups
rhythmic - fleshy
melodies - poorly designed
harmonies - emotional
design is free form - not tight at all
based on styles and popularity
dissonant sound
-
Japheth Instruments
technically constructed
marvelous in their design
superb craftsmanship
virtuoso - a skilled master performer of a
particular instrument
coloratura - the variation on a specific
word to the vocalist. When they sing 'valley' in The Messiah, the
singer stays on the word valley and sings 'all over the place.' The
same with the word 'change' in today's example.
Musical
Examples:
Excerpts from Mozart's...
Clarinet Concerto in A Major
I. Allegro
II. Adagio
III. Rondo
Notice how this music 'carries' you with the sound
- modern music today pushes you with the beat!
The Messiah
I Corinthians 15:21,22
to 51-53
to Revelation 5:12,13
Since By Man Came Death
Behold, I Tell You A Mystery
The Trumpet Shall Sound
Worthy is the Lamb
